What is Pastured Poultry?

Pastured Poultry is a production system that employs raising chickens directly on pasture. The model has been developed over the last twenty years and allows the birds to receive up to 20% of their feed intake from pasture forage. Our poultry are housed in bottomless shelters which protect the birds from predators. These shelters are moved daily onto fresh grass and the chickens are given plenty of high quality organic grain and fresh water. The shelters provide shade as well as adequate sun and fresh air for the birds.

Why Grass Fed?

When we feed animals their original diet, we are feeding them food that is most in harmony with their digestive system. This naturally produces healthier animals. Meat and eggs from grass-fed animals supply our bodies with a natural source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, CLA (a natural cancer fighter) and Beta-Carotene.

Grass-fed animals produce lean meat that is very dense, tender, and juicy and it has wonderful flavor. We are proud to provide you with safe, healthy meat.

Organic?

We are often asked if we are organic. By definition of organic we are, but we are not certified. * We follow organic practices. *Our fields are not sprayed. *Weeds are pulled by hand or mowed down. *We do not use hormones or back ground antibiotics. *We feed organic grains.
